Until 2001 he was Managing Director of Something Special, at the time the UK's largest villa holiday company. David thinks the important factors to take into account when booking a villa holiday either as a package or by buying individual components are:

2) Does the holiday villa have all the attributes that I am looking for; dishwasher, washing machine, hair dryers, satellite TV, heated pool, air-conditioning, etc.
3) Do I know the distance from the holiday villa to; the beach, the nearest supermarket, the nearest restaurant, etc.
Finally - do not leave health and safety to the villa supplier - a villa can be a dangerous place - consider pool safety, consider gas water heaters, consider uncovered wells in the grounds, consider gaps in fences, hedgerows etc. It takes 15 minutes to wander around a villa and its grounds looking for hidden dangers - if you do not like what you find, contact the villa supplier or his local representative immediately, do not leave your family's safety to chance.
